Established in September 2024 with the vision to plug the gap between professional opportunities available to students from underserved communities, The Pathway Programme is driven by a two-fold purpose. First, to empower students from underserved communities by equipping them with the requisite training and knowledge required to pursue a diverse array of career paths. Towards this end, the Project intends to nurture wide-ranging and sustainable networks with experts and professionals from different fields to offer continued mentorship to these students and increase their chances of professional viability. Further, by disseminating original knowledge resources, including a comprehensive guide and a YouTube series, the project seeks to introduce students to different professions and make them understand the requirements and opportunities in these fields. Committed to deploying a data-driven approach, the project has planned an in-depth survey to garner contextualized information about the individual aspirations and skill sets of students from vulnerable communities in order to develop targeted interventions.
The second purpose driving the project is to facilitate the placement of these students through The Pathway Placement Program, which seeks to ensure that students affiliated with the project find internships and employment within their chosen fields. For this, we also aim to undertake fundraising campaigns to finance the project’s various elements, along with amplifying the work of our NGO partners. Thus, the project endeavors to ensure that these students are able to take control of their futures and grow to become confident professionals, thereby achieving socioeconomic mobility.
